Our Values

  • Strong support from our community.
  • Our focus remains on what's best for kids.
  • The instructors are passionate about the agriculture industry and sharing that with students.
  • We have a good connection to our parents.
  • We have a strong advisory board made up of industry professionals and community leaders.

Our Goals

  1. Achieve 85% FFA involvement for the 2025-2026 school year...up from 67.% from the previous year
  2. Continue to work on program growth to eventually hire a 3rd instructor
  3. Provide more opportunities for student certifications and internships
  4. Continue to build support of our program from the community and alumni

Welcome From Our Agriculture Coordinator

A man in a baseball cap and hoodie smiles at the camera.I grew up in the school district and graduated from La Habra High School where I was heavily involved in the agriculture program. I began working for the district in 1999 as a Farmhand at LHHS while I went to school. When my Ag teacher/boss retired, I took his position as the new teacher. I have taught agriculture in the district now for 20 years, 16 of which have been here at Sonora High School.

I have taught just about every course offered in the program including: Sustainable Agriculture Biology, Ag. Earth Science, Vet Science, Ornamental Horticulture, Small Gas Engines, Ag Mechanics, etc…

Fun fact about me…I met my wife of 25 years in Ag at La Habra and we had our wedding reception on the school farm. I have two boys. One of which is graduating in 2026 from Sonora and the other in 2030, both active in the program.
